Junior Bookkeeper

About the position

The Junior Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, tracking transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. They need to ensure that the company's accounts are up-to-date and in compliance with relevant regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and track daily financial transactions.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support the finance team with the preparation of budgets and cashflow forecasts.
• Process and tracking transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
• Assist with audit preparations and documentation as needed.
• Reconciliation balance sheet accounts and creditors.
• Reconciliation between operating system and accounting system.
• Assisting in preparation of credit applications.

Capabilities & Competencies:

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel). Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Sage) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
• Enthusiasm to learn and grow within the supply chain and logistics industry.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Senior certificate (NQF 4)
• Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2-3 Years work-related skills and experience in the Clearing & Forwarding/Supply Chain industry.
• Previous experience in bookkeeping or finance is required.
• SAIPA articles would be advantageous.
• South African citizen
• Code B driver's license and own transport
