About the position
A reputable company in the FMCG industry based in Kya Sands is seeking to fill a vacancy for a Junior Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of bookkeeping practices, demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure, and show a strong willingness to go the extra mile.
Accounts Receivables
- 2nd approval of Credit & COD application forms.
- Sign Credit application approval letter.
- Age Analysis must be 'tidied up' monthly.
Accounts Payables
- Perform verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts payable data.
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger for all suppliers by 20th of each month.
- Make sure that all payments are properly posted and allocated.
- Check and calculate storage & transport charges and compare to supplier invoices.
- All storage invoices are to be signed by Craig & Stephen before processing.
- Respond to and resolve suppliers' issues and questions.
- Prepare and submit payments requests for approval.
- Send list of local suppliers, to Collette & Craig, with due amount by the 10th of each month
- All supplier invoices for the previous month are to be captured in the current month
Bookkeeping
- Record day-to-day financial transactions daily. (Cashbook)
- Bank reconciliations - daily, weekly, monthly.
- Ensure that all cash deposits are identified and correctly posted.
- Identify bank charges relating to cash deposits and transfer to the correct customer account.
- Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct accounts, supplier ledger, customer ledger,general ledger and other ledgers.
- Load all local & foreign payments after management approval.
- Resolve all foreign payment queries with bank
- Obtain APNO number from SARS Efiling
- Complete inward funds docs and submit to bank
- Check that all payments have been released Letters of credit
- Load LC information of STD Bank platform
- Send LC to supplier for approval
- Manage LC's expiry dates and changes Inventory/Costing
- Do stock recons - STILL TO BE DEFINED
- Perform import inventory costing calculations as and when required.
- Process costings and ensure that all codes, calculations and details are correct.
- After approval - print 2nd template inclusive of all capturing calculations.
- Submit to Finance Manager for verification.
Make copies of required documentation to be used as supporting documentation for the creditor invoices.
Capture month end invoices, insurance, Management
- Manage Creditors / Debtors Clerk
