Audit Supervisor – Permanent Position
Job Summary
A well-established professional services firm is seeking an Audit Supervisor to join its Audit Department. The ideal candidate will uphold high professional standards, demonstrate strong technical expertise, and communicate effectively across a diverse team. The role also involves building and maintaining strong client relationships while ensuring that all statutory and administrative requirements are met.
The firm provides audit, assurance, tax, accounting, and advisory services to clients across various industries. Minimum Requirements
- Completion of a SAICA or AGA training contract (Audit & Assurance)
- Excellent knowledge of ISA’s, auditing standards, IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
- Working knowledge of SAICA, IRBA and other relevant professional codes of conduct
- Strong IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Caseware
- Advanced experience using Caseware Working Papers
- Demonstrated experience supervising junior trainees during articles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans
- Minimum 1 year post-articles experience
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the audit team adheres to policies, audit methodology, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
- Identify, address, and mitigate audit and client engagement risks
- Provide clients with sound professional advice and support
- Manage and oversee the delivery of audit work to clients and partners
- Seek opportunities to add value and drive impact within engagements
- Plan, organise, and schedule audit assignments
- Ensure audits are completed within the required timelines
- Review and assess audit files prior to completion
- Integrate best practices into audit programmes and processes
- Finalise (lock down) audit files timeously
- Guide, mentor, and support team members while sharing technical knowledge
- Provide direction and supervision to audit teams throughout engagements
