Junior Accountant/SAIPA Clerk

About the position

Our client is a small, owner managed accounting and tax practice, with a wide variety of SME and tax clients. They offer their clients a variety of services such as accounting, payroll, tax, CIPC work and other compliance services. They are looking for a Junior Accountant or SAIPA Clerk to join their practice in the Northern Suburbs.
Job Description:
- Bookkeeping up to Trail Balance (Xero / Sageone / Pastel) including Bank reconciliations
- Management / reconciliation of debtors / creditors on behalf of clients
- Fixed Asset Register maintenance
- Intercompany loan reconciliations
- Monthly Management Accounts Pack preparation
- Payroll administration and SARS submissions (SimplePay software)
- Easyfile annual and bi-annual submissions
- VAT201 review, reconciliation and submission on efiling
- Income Tax submissions on efiling
- Assistance with Budgeting and Cash Flow forecasting
- Assistance with the preparation and review of Annual Financial Statements
- COIDA annual declarations (workman’s compensation)
- All CIPC work including the Annual Returns submissions

Qualifications and Requirements:
- BCom Accounting degree or similar
- Good communication skills and fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Experience of working in an accounting practice highly recommended
- Must be a team player & willing to keep timesheets
- Must have accounting experience
- Must have own transport
- Requests for a hybrid work from home arrangement taken into consideration after 6 months
