About the position
Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their finance team based in Joburg North. Reporting to the Group Financial Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a BCom graduate with solid accounting experience to join a dynamic and growing business.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Managing day-to-day financial transactions and accounting records
- Preparing and processing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Monitoring and reporting on cash flow
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Assisting with VAT submissions and other statutory requirements
- Preparing financial reports and information for management
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised financial documentation
What we’re looking for:
- BCom degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 5+ years’ relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication skills
