About the position
Main Job Purpose:
The Junior Account Manager will hunt and prospect new logo accounts within the private and public
sectors. Identify leads and opportunities, deliver client presentations and close opportunities. Support the
sales and account management team in maintaining and growing customer relationships. This role is
ideal for someone with a passion for technology, customer service, and business development. The
candidate will work with prospective clients to understand their IT requirements and offer appropriate
solutions from the company portfolio of premium ICT products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Hunt for new business (nett new Gross Profit) and new logo accounts
- Manage a portfolio of newly acquired client accounts, ensuring consistent and professional service.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the products and solutions offered by the company, particularly across Dell, HP, Lenovo, Veeam, Nutanix, Huawei, IBM and other brands.
- Support the sales cycle from lead generation to quotation, order processing, and after-sales follow-up.
- Engage with customers to identify opportunities, understand their ICT needs, and propose appropriate solutions.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Bid office, Internal Sales, Technical) to ensure timely delivery of bids, quotations and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Update and maintain CRM systems with customer data, opportunities, and activities.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs set by management.
- Attend training sessions and vendor events to stay current with product knowledge.
- Complete Vendor based certifications
- Maintain up-to-date market and competitor knowledge to identify business opportunities.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12) required.
- A diploma or degree in Sales, Information Technology, or a related field is advantageous.
Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing or sales-related role, ideally in the ICT or technology sector.
- Exposure to reseller, distributor, or vendor environments is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic understanding of IT hardware, software, and cloud-based solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing quotes and orders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
Desirable:
- Vendor certifications or sales training (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Veeam, Nutanix, Huawei).
- Existing relationships or network within the various South African industry verticals.
- Own transport
