About the position
Reverside is an established IT services provider specializing in delivering high-quality Software Development, IT Resourcing, Digital Transformation, and Systems Support solutions. We are always looking for skilled professionals to join our growing team and contribute to innovative technology projects across various industries. We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with 5 years of experience.
This role involves working with a modern tech stack that includes:
- Kubernetes
- GitLab
- Ansible
- Grafana
- PostgreSQL
- Go (70%) / Java (30%) – Quarkus
- React Native
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Solution Architects to translate high- and low-level designs into robust, scalable backend implementations.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and microservices that integrate with internal and external systems, including other M-Pesa platforms.
- Identify, track, and resolve technical risks and issues throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work alongside Scrum Masters, Project Managers, and Agile team members to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of backend solutions.
- Ensure backend solutions meet business requirements and adhere to security and performance standards.
- Drive continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies.
Core Competencies and Experience:- Strong experience in backend software development using Go and Java.
- Deep understanding of service-oriented architectures, RESTful APIs, and microservices design patterns.
- Proficiency with Unix/Linux systems, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle), and query optimization.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with cryptographic algorithms, security best practices, and secure coding principles.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, TDD, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Prior experience in financial services (highly desirable).
- Strong problem-solving mindset, with a drive for innovation and continuous learning.
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban).
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (essential).
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (essential).
- Industry certifications in Java, Go, or other backend technologies (desirable).
- Security certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or CompTIA Security+ (desirable).
