About the position
Our client seeks the expertise of a Senior Data Analyst will support credit control initiatives by leveraging data analytics to monitor customer payment behavior, classify debts, and provide actionable insights that improve revenue recovery. Reporting to the Credit Control Manager, this role involves developing dashboards, compiling collection strategy reports, and ensuring data governance while collaborating with field teams and IT specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
Leverage data analytics to analyze customer payment behavior and identify trends in debts and areas monitoring.
Build dashboards to visualize debt collection performance, payment trends, and billing discrepancies.
Classify or categorize debts by area to support targeted collection strategies.
Compile collection strategy reports and ad hoc reports to assist with decision-making for credit control.
Monitor debt collection performance and provide insights to optimize revenue recovery.
Ensure data governance and quality in all analysis and reporting processes.
Provide operational support to the Credit Control Manager and field teams through data-driven insights.
Analyze audit data from water and electrical meters to detect tampering or inefficiencies.
Utilize municipal billing systems to cross-reference audit data with payment records.
Collaborate with IT specialists and business analysts to integrate data systems and improve reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in data science, Statistics, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis, with at least 2 years in municipal or billing system environments.
Proven experience in analyzing customer payment behavior and debt monitoring is highly desirable.
Certifications: Certifications in Python, Power BI, or data governance frameworks are a plus.
Technical Skills
Software: Proficiency in municipal billing systems (e.g., SAP, SAGE Intacct) for data integration and reporting.
Data Analysis Tools: Expertise in Python for data manipulation and Power BI for building dashboards.
Data Governance: Knowledge of data quality standards and governance practices.
Microsoft Office: Advanced Excel skills for reporting and data analysis.
