Technical Test Analyst

About the position

My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for a Technical Test Analyst to join their team on a contract basis.

IT / Finance

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and design test cases
• Perform manual and automated testing (Unit, SIT, UAT, Regression, Smoke)
• Maintain and execute regression test packs
• Prepare, create, and manage test data
• Conduct back-end (database) testing using SQL queries
• Test APIs with tools such as SOAPUI or Bruno
• Log and manage defects using JIRA (or similar)
• Share knowledge and collaborate with team members
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' software testing experience.
• Relevant degree/diploma in Computer Science or IT.
• Experience with:
• • Java (TestNG), Eclipse, Maven, Git, JMeter, Selenium
• • Manual and automated test execution
• • API and database testing (SQL Server, Oracle)
• • QC/ALM, JIRA, Confluence
• Experience in white box, black box, web application, and cross-browser testing.
• ISTQB certification (advantageous).
• Knowledge of investment/financial services (advantageous).
