About the position

The Senior Project Manager / Lead is responsible for managing assigned business and IT projects of various sizes throughout the whole project lifecycle to meet project objectives and support the company in achieving its strategy, ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed throughout and that deadlines are met.
Responsibilities

  • Plan, define and scope assigned projects to company standards using defined tools, methodologies, processes, and procedures, to create well defined projects which align with Business and IT strategies.
  • Manage assigned projects from initiation to close (and review where appropriate), in line with defined company standards, in order to ensure that projects are delivered to agreed cost, time and quality measures, and meet their overall objectives.
  • Acquire the resources and skills needed to create a project team that is able to deliver the project objectives, and provide effective team leadership, ensuring that performance is maintained so that projects are delivered within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality.
  • Ensure that project, quality, change control and risk management processes are implemented and followed on all assigned projects, so that any issues and risks can be identified and responded to.
  • Provide regular and accurate reports (including project forecasting) to stakeholders so that they have the information they need to review the progress of their project/s.
  • Monitor and control resources (including 3rd parties), revenue and capital costs against the project budget, and communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of project return on investment.
  • Provide transparent documentation of the project to agreed standards, so that there are records that can be audited, referred to in the future, and used to facilitate smooth project transfer back to the business.


Skills

  • Proven track record in managing multiple, large scale IT projects
  • Has worked on and successfully delivered several complex projects
  • An excellent understanding of IT project methodologies, processes and procedures
  • Motor Industry knowledge and experience would be desirable
  • A deep understanding of project management lifecycle and project financials
  • A good understanding of the IT industry, technology, and trends


Qualifications

  • Sc / B. Comm / B. Sc Eng degree or related diploma
  • Prince 2 foundation
