Commercial Funnel & Data Science Analyst - Drive Portfolio Performance with Data!

A high-growth fintech company is on the hunt for a Commercial Funnel & Data Science Analyst to optimize the customer journey from funding to collections - using data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics to uncover insights that drive profitability and performance.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Portfolio & Impairment Analyst, you'll play a central role in shaping the success of our lending portfolio. From identifying high-risk loan segments to refining our collections strategy, your insights will power smarter decisions and sustainable growth.
Loan Portfolio Performance & Risk Analysis
- Track and analyse loan behavior post-funding - from arrears to recoveries.
- Build predictive models using machine learning to segment risk and forecast performance.
- Evaluate macroeconomic factors and their influence on credit trends.
Collections Strategy & Performance
- Deliver actionable insights to improve collections efficiency across multiple channels (call centre, digital, external).
- Refine scoring models to prioritize recovery actions and reduce bad debt.
- Use NLP for sentiment analysis to enhance customer interaction strategies.
Impairment Forecasting & Predictive Modelling
- Develop and maintain IFRS 9-aligned impairment models using advanced ML/statistical techniques.
- Forecast long-term portfolio trends and run stress-testing scenarios.
- Collaborate with finance teams to inform provisioning strategies.
Advanced Data Science & Real-Time Analytics
- Leverage AI and ML for fraud detection, early warnings, and risk prediction.
- Build data pipelines and deploy models for real-time decision-making.
- Tackle structured and unstructured data to unlock new value.
Reporting & Insight Delivery
- Create dynamic dashboards with tools like Tableau, Redash, or Looker.
- Use Python, R, or PostgreSQL to deep-dive into performance data.
- Automate reporting processes and deliver high-impact business insights.
What You Bring
- A Postgraduate Degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or similar (Master's preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or marketing analytics - preferably in fintech, online lending, or banking.
- Strong coding skills in Python, R, or PostgreSQL.
- Deep understanding of credit risk, lending models, and collections.
- Experience building and maintaining impairment models and forecasting expected credit losses.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Redash, Looker).
- A curious, problem-solving mindset and the ability to transform data into strategy.
