About the position
JDE Business Analyst
Own the heartbeat of the business · Manufacturing, Distribution, Assets & Finance
If you live in JD Edwards — not just around it — this is the role where your specs, your support and your improvements actually keep a complex operation moving. You are the trusted link between the plant, the warehouse, finance and the ERP. You write the functional and technical specifications. You keep the modules healthy. You turn messy change requests into controlled, documented delivery. And you put Insight BI and JDE reports in front of people who need answers, not more tickets.
This brief asks for real JDE tenure, real business analysis and real project lead time. If you have already done the hard yards across manufacturing, distribution, capital asset management and finance, you will be stretched — not babysat.
Why this role matters
· You are the first call when manufacturing, distribution, assets or finance need JDE to behave.
· Your specifications become the contract between the business and the system — clarity here prevents expensive rework.
· You drive continuous improvement, not ticket-only firefighting.
· You own change-control documentation so upgrades and enhancements stay auditable and safe.
· You put Insight BI and JDE reporting in the hands of decision-makers.
What you will do
· Write technical and JDE functional specifications for Manufacturing, Distribution, Capital Asset Management and Finance.
· Provide holistic JDE support across all business areas — diagnose, resolve, escalate and close with discipline.
· Partner with systems leadership on priorities, releases and module health.
· Lead and coordinate projects: scope, timelines, stakeholders, testing and go-live readiness.
· Manage the change-control pack — requests, impact, approvals, documentation and version history.
· Deliver business intelligence through the Insight BI tool and native JDE reports.
· Champion continuous improvement: simplify processes, reduce workarounds, retire tribal knowledge.
· Work to site safety procedures.
What success looks like
· Specifications are complete enough that developers and testers do not have to guess.
· Business users get timely, accurate JDE support and trust the analyst behind the ticket.
· Change is controlled — nothing material reaches production without a paper trail.
· Insight BI and JDE reports are used, not ignored.
· Leadership can see pipeline, risk and delivery without chasing you.
RequirementsWhat you must bring
· Matric with Mathematics and Science.
· BSc in Computer Science or BCom in Finance.
· A qualification in Business Analysis, Service Delivery or JDE Application Support.
· Minimum 5 years across JDE versions (EnterpriseOne / World welcome if module depth is real).
· Minimum 5 years Business Analysis — requirements, process mapping, UAT, stakeholders.
· Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
What will set you apart
· Hands-on time in Manufacturing, Distribution, CAM and Finance — not a single-module specialist only.
· Insight BI (or equivalent JDE reporting) you have built or supported, not only consumed.
· Comfort writing both functional and technical specifications.
· A bias for continuous improvement and clean documentation.
· Calm under operational pressure — month-end, stock takes, asset counts, production exceptions.
Who this is for
· This opportunity will suit a South African-based JDE analyst who wants to stay close to the business, not disappear into a generic ERP shared-service queue.
· Ready to make JDE work harder for the business?
If the modules above are your daily language — and you can prove five years of JDE plus five years of experience — we want to hear from you
