About the position

Role based in Bryanston
We are looking for an IT Support consultant to be responsible for maintenance and operations including local IT control and failure support within the client’s environment.
Take responsibility for the smooth running of the computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. You will report to and deliver on behalf of the global head office for this organisation.
The successful candidate would be available 01 April for onsite work in the client’s office in Bryanston, Johannesburg.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and troubleshooting for the client’s current ICT environment.
  • Respond to end user queries and requests.
  • Manage vendor support including systems; network; communications; connectivity; security.
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.
  • Ensure implementation of the organisations policies and standards are adhered to with respect to infrastructure, systems and data.
  • Coordinate and oversee vendors with respect to security of data, network access and backup systems.
  • Coordinate future installations and implementations.
  • Identify problematic areas and advise on suitable solutions.
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures.

Requirements and skills
  • Proven working experience in IT support services or relevant experience
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Sufficient understanding of the following technologies to allow for first line trouble shooting:
    • SharePoint
    • MCOP
    • Zscaler
    • Yealink IP Phones
    • Ubiquiti
    • HikeVision

  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation

  • Solution orientated, and insightful with the ability to take initiative

  • Good time management and administrative skills

  • Honesty, integrity and a customer centric disposition, viewing both the organisation and users as clients
