IT Sales Specialist – 12-Month Contract
Location: South Africa (National Coverage)
Contract Type: 12-month contract (with potential benefits discussed upon offer)
We are assisting one of our new clients in filling a dynamic IT Sales Specialist role focused on developing business across South Africa. This hybrid role combines elements of channel sales, key account management, and territory development, ideally suited for a self-motivated, tech-savvy individual with strong interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities across South Africa.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key retail and enterprise decision-makers.
- Represent the brand professionally and credibly in all client interactions.
- Conduct in-depth needs analysis and deliver tailored solutions presentations.
- Prepare compelling proposals, negotiate deals, and close sales aligned with company strategy.
- Visit nominated outlets and accounts in your territory quarterly (Call Coverage).
- Achieve daily call targets and maintain an optimal call frequency with all accounts.
- Implement the approved sales cycle plan, including admin and infield work (4:1 ratio).
- Track and report on all sales visits and territory activities weekly.
- Ensure cost-effective use of sales resources to maximize opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, technical support, and product) to ensure client satisfaction.
- Train and support partner and retail staff through one-on-one or group product sessions.
- Gather and share competitor and market intelligence to inform company strategy.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in IT, FMCG, retail, or channel sales.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and software solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Confident in presenting solutions and closing deals independently.
- Must be PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with South African business culture and IT landscape.
Advantageous:
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business Management, or Finance.
- Sales certifications (e.g., Certified Sales Professional).
- Existing network within the South African IT and retail sector.
- Knowledge of local data privacy laws and compliance requirements.
