Release Train Engineer
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Release Train Engineer to lead and optimize our Agile release processes across departments. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, facilitation, and analytical capabilities to ensure seamless delivery of complex initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach, leveraging industry best practices, robust data management, and innovative problem-solving to drive outcomes. With a strong attention to detail, business acumen, and a commitment to continuous improvement, you’ll play a key role in aligning strategy with execution in a high-paced environment.
This is a 3 Year contract with the option to renew.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) Events
- Plan and lead key SAFe ceremonies such as PI (Program Increment) Planning, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
- Coordinate ART Execution
- Ensure alignment across multiple Agile teams to deliver value and meet business goals on time.
- Support Program Increment (PI) Objectives
- Track and communicate PI progress, dependencies, risks, and impediments.
- Drive Continuous Improvement
- Promote lean thinking, identify inefficiencies, and lead improvement initiatives across the train.
- Manage Risks and Dependencies
- Identify, escalate, and resolve cross-team risks and issues proactively.
- Foster Collaboration and Communication
- Act as a servant leader and coach to Agile teams, Product Management, and stakeholders.
- Ensure Transparency and Reporting
- Maintain dashboards, reports, and communication tools to keep all stakeholders informed of ART progress.
- Coach on Agile Best Practices
- Provide guidance on Lean-Agile principles, SAFe practices, and team-level Agile execution.
- Interface with Leadership and Stakeholders
- Align ART outcomes with strategic priorities and report on delivery metrics and business value.
- Support Tooling and Infrastructure
- Ensure Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Rally) are effectively used to support execution and tracking.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) – preferred or required.
- Additional Agile certifications such as SAFe® Agilist, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or PMI-ACP are advantageous.
- 8 Years Experience as RTE
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Strong Microsoft office suite skills – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working with Jira and other Project Management tools to enhance project details and visibility.
