About the position
We're hiring on behalf of our client, who is seeking the services of an experienced IT Project Manager on a contract basis to lead critical IT initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Project Manager to take full ownership of end-to-end project management for complex IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, stakeholder satisfaction, and adherence to budget and quality standards.
Role Overview:
The IT Project Manager (IT PM) will be responsible for managing IT projects from initial planning through execution, monitoring, and successful delivery. This includes coordinating resources, managing budgets and timelines, mitigating risks, and ensuring that all project objectives align with the client's strategic goals. The IT PM will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors, providing clear and actionable updates to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full lifecycle of IT projects, from initial planning, requirement gathering, and scope definition, through to execution, monitoring, and successful delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments and organizational levels to define project goals, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, manage timelines, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor budgets to ensure projects stay on track.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, implementing contingency plans to maintain project momentum and delivery quality.
- Implement and adapt project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches, depending on project requirements.
- Provide regular, clear, and comprehensive updates on project progress to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and resolutions.
- Ensure all deliverables meet defined quality standards and business requirements, while maintaining alignment with the client's strategic objectives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex software development or infrastructure projects.
- Solid understanding of project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Trello, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience managing projects in both Agile and Waterfall environments, with the ability to tailor methodologies to project needs.
- Project management certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as a contractor while delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
