What you will be doing:
- Designing, implementing, and troubleshooting Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Wi-Fi infrastructure, and related connectivity. Maintaining network stability and uptime.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for network-related issues. Diagnosing and remediating outages and performance bottlenecks to minimize disruption.
- Assisting with the management of Office 365, including user accounts, security configurations, and applications such as Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams. Providing user support and guidance on effective utilisation.
- Configuring, managing, and troubleshooting the IP phone system to guarantee reliable call connectivity.
- Deploying and managing security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and mitigate potential cyber threats.
- Creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including network diagrams and procedural instructions, to facilitate knowledge sharing and expedite troubleshooting.
- Engaging with system administrators and help desk staff to ensure seamless IT operations and project execution. Providing technical expertise and support as needed.
What our client is looking for:
- A relevant tertiary qualification would be beneficial (Computer Science, IT, etc.)
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, Network+, Microsoft 365, etc.)
- 3+ years of networking experience.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and technologies.
- Solid understanding of network security (firewalls, VPNs).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
- Experience with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Experience with IP telephone systems (e.g., Cisco, Avaya).
- Cloud networking experience.
- Proficiency in Office 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
