About the position
A South African telecommunications company that specializes in carrier-grade licensed wireless connectivity, private networks, and wholesale 5G broadband, is seeking an IT Manager who will define, build, and execute the enterprise IT strategy supporting corporate, commercial, and operational functions.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a 3–5 year IT roadmap aligned with corporate objectives.
- Establish governance frameworks aligned with ISO, ITIL, and industry best practices.
- Serve as sole IT practitioner initially, managing end-to-end operations before hiring, onboarding, and leading a high-performing IT team.
- Plan, architect, and execute a seamless, full-lifecycle migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365.
- Oversee application lifecycle, integration, and data integrity across ServiceNow, Sage 300, Azure, and M365.
- Drive workflow automation and business process digitization.
- Architect, optimize, and manage Azure workloads (VMs, app hosting, Entra ID, secure connectivity).
- Ensure high availability, resilience, disaster recovery, and cloud cost optimization.
- Deliver reliable IT service management across all business units using ServiceNow for Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Define and enforce SLAs/OLAs to ensure high end-user satisfaction.
- Define and enforce a robust security posture (Identity/Access, Endpoint, and Cloud Security).
- Ensure strict compliance with POPIA, internal policies, and ISO 27001 standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: 5–10 years of progressive IT experience, combining hands-on technical execution with team leadership potential.
- Industry Focus: Proven background in ICT, Telecommunications, or Connectivity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Core Competency: Demonstrated experience leading full-lifecycle Microsoft 365 deployment and migration projects.
- Target Microsoft Certifications
- Cloud & Infrastructure: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect)
- M365 & Endpoints: MS-102 (M365 Administrator), MD-102 (Endpoint Administrator)
- Security & Identity: SC-100 (Cybersecurity Architect), SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst), SC-300 (Identity & Access Administrator)
