About the position
A major private pathology and clinical testing service that provides advanced diagnostic testing for infectious diseases, clinical trials, genomics, and occupational health to healthcare providers and patients is seeking an IT Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary administrator and expert for the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and integrated business software.
- Manage LIMS configurations, master data (test codes, reference ranges), and user access/permissions.
- Set up, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, peripherals, operating systems, and software.
- Manage the IT team and oversee daily operations.
- Configure and maintain interfaces between LIMS and laboratory instruments; troubleshoot connectivity and data transfer issues.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on new instrument and software integrations to optimize business functions.
- Provide timely tier-1 and tier-2 hardware/software support (in-person and remote).
- Diagnose network, application, and system malfunctions, documenting resolutions for future reference.
- Monitor and ensure data integrity within LIMS, implementing QC procedures and resolving discrepancies.
- Generate operational, quality, and regulatory reports from LIMS.
- Oversee data archiving, retention compliance, and maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and software licenses.
- Develop and deliver IT/LIMS training programs and orientation materials for staff.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, workflows, and
- IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Promote IT security awareness and best practices across the organization.
- Lead or participate in LIMS upgrades, system testing, and new software implementations.
- Collaborate with management to identify process optimization opportunities via system enhancements.
- Ensure all IT operations and system configurations comply with regulatory standards and strict data security/confidentiality policies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Qualifications: Relevant IT qualification.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in an IT management or senior support role.
- Key Skills:
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Pastel, PaySpace).
- Strong numerical reasoning and communication skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-management abilities.
