IT Manager

About the position

A South African company that provides comprehensive pathology services is seeking an IT Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary expert for LIMS and integrated company software.
  
  
• Oversee LIMS configuration, master data (test codes, ranges), and system customization.
  
  
• Manage the full lifecycle of IT assets, including workstations, peripherals, and software licensing.
  
  
• Lead and manage the IT team, ensuring efficient technical operations across the organization.
  
  
• Direct the maintenance of interfaces between LIMS and laboratory instrumentation.
  
  
• Oversee Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  
  
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on new integrations and interface development.
  
  
• Optimize organizational functions by facilitating seamless cross-system integration.
  
  
• Monitor LIMS data integrity and implement robust QC procedures.
  
  
• Analyze LIMS data for operational, quality, and regulatory reporting.
  
  
• Ensure rigorous data archiving and retention in accordance with legal requirements.
  
  
• Establish training programs for staff on LIMS functionalities and IT best practices.
  
  
• Maintain comprehensive SOPs, configuration guides, and troubleshooting documentation.
  
  
• Promote security awareness and efficient system usage across all departments.
  
  
• Lead high-level projects including LIMS upgrades and new module implementations.
  
  
• Partner with senior management to identify process optimizations through system enhancements.
  
  
• Ensure all IT configurations and operations strictly adhere to regulatory standards and security policies.
  
  
• Manage and participate in internal and external audits.
  
  

Requirements:

• Qualifications: Relevant Tertiary IT Qualification.
  
  
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in IT Management or Senior Systems Administration.
  
  
• Technical Skills:
  
  
  • Advanced knowledge of LIMS configuration and master data management.
    
    
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (Pastel or PaySpace).
    
    
  • Expertise in hardware/software infrastructure and network connectivity.
