About the position
Role
Our client is looking for a capable and hands-on IT Manager to lead their IT function at the company Classic Support Centre. This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring that their technology environment is secure, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of IT infrastructure, systems, and support services, while leading a small team, managing vendors, and delivering projects that support operational excellence and ongoing improvement across the business.
What you will do
- Ensure reliable IT operations and infrastructure, including planning, maintenance, and backup processes.
- Oversee systems and application management, including in-house development. Assess and prioritise system requests in line with business needs and allocate resources accordingly.
- Manage IT support and help desk operations to ensure timely and effective user support.
- Lead and deliver IT projects from planning through to implementation.
- Manage vendors and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Oversee IT security and compliance, ensuring data integrity and system protection.
- Manage financial and administrative aspects of the IT department, including budgets, cost control, procurement, and reporting.
- Lead and develop the IT team.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies, identify opportunities within the business, and recommend appropriate improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems
- At least 3 years’ experience in a management role
- Proven project management experience within an IT environment
- Demonstrated experience managing IT infrastructure and third-party service providers
- At least 5 years’ relevant IT experience (e.g., networks, telecommunications, systems support)
Preferred Requirements (Advantageous)
- Certification in project management or IT management
- Exposure to IT service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL)
- Experience in hybrid cloud environments
- Experience managing development teams
