Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of information technology within their trading entity. The IT Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of their IT systems, implementing technology and cyber- security solutions to support business objectives, and managing IT projects and vendors. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, strong management skills, and a strategic mindset to drive innovation and efficiency in the company IT operations.
Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure Management and End User support:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and telecommunications systems.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of IT infrastructure to support business operations and compliance requirements.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure the effective delivery of IT services and support and end users support.
- Manage team/vendor to manage end users.
Systems Administration:
- Manage and administer enterprise systems, including ERP, WMS, CRM, and trading platforms, to optimize performance and functionality.
- Implement best practices for system monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and enhance user experience.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to mitigate risks and ensure operational resilience.
IT Security and Compliance:
- Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive data and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Adopt IT security controls mandated by Divisional office within agreed timeframes.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Timeously remediate findings from internal and external IT audits.
- Ensure that adequate documentation is maintained for relevant processes and for any changes to these processes.
- Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and ensure a culture of security awareness.
Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop IT strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology for competitive advantage, innovation, and operational efficiency.
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to support their growth and performance.
Project Management:
- Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, including requirements gathering, planning, execution, and post-implementation review.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and escalate as needed to ensure project success.
- Vendor Management:
- Manage vendors to ensure optimal return on investment with efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
- Monitor vendor pricing to ensure in line with or below market prices.
- Ensure that vendors comply with contractual obligations and address instances of non-compliance without delay.
Risk Management
- Continuously assess risks to the IT environment and implement remediation activities without delay to mitigate such risks.
- Keep management informed of risks and the implementation of related remediation activities.
- Staff Management & Development
- Assign tasks, set priorities and oversee daily activities of staff.
- Ensure that staff have the necessary tools and resources to perform their tasks effectively.
- Invest in the professional development of staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in IT management roles, preferably in the trading or financial services industry.
- Strong technical expertise in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and cybersecurity.
- Experience managing enterprise systems such as ERP, WMS, CRM, and trading platforms.
- Proven track record of leading IT projects and delivering results on time and within budget.
- Excellent management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, ITIL) are a plus.
