About the position
A leading higher education institution is seeking a qualified and passionate IT Lecturer to join its academic team in Polokwane. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, facilitating student learning, and contributing to academic excellence within the Information Technology faculty.
Modules to be Taught
Applicants must have these modules reflected on their academic transcript and be able to lecture in the following areas:
- Operating Systems 600
- Operating Systems 700
- Data Science 500
- Machine Learning 600
- Statistics for Data Science 600
- Business Communication 500
- Autonomous Systems & Robotics 700
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions.
- Develop lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments.
- Assess and moderate student work in accordance with academic policies.
- Provide academic support and mentorship to students.
- Maintain accurate academic records and submit results within required deadlines.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous programme improvement.
- Attend departmental meetings and contribute to faculty initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in Information Technology and higher education.
Minimum Requirements
- Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field.
- Previous lecturing, tutoring, facilitation, or training experience within higher education will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of the modules listed above.
- The relevant modules must appear on your academic transcript.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- Passion for teaching and developing future IT professionals.
