The IT Intern will provide technical support to the Information Technology department by assisting with day-to-day IT operations, troubleshooting, system maintenance, and user support. The successful candidate will gain practical exposure to the technology environment within an investment company, supporting systems that enable business operations, data management, cybersecurity, and digital solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support
- Provide first-line technical support to employees regarding hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and network issues.
- Assist with setting up, configuring, and maintaining desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues or escalate complex problems where necessary.
- Install and update operating systems, software applications, and security patches.
Systems and Infrastructure
- Support the maintenance of company networks, servers, and cloud-based systems.
- Assist with user account creation, password resets, and access management.
- Monitor system performance and report any technical issues.
- Help maintain IT asset registers and inventory records.
Cybersecurity and Compliance
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, including antivirus updates and security awareness activities.
- Assist in monitoring compliance with company IT policies and data protection standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and client information.
Data and Reporting
- Assist with data extraction, reporting, and system documentation.
- Prepare user guides, process documents, and technical manuals.
- Support technology projects and system implementation initiatives.
General Duties
- Participate in IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Keep accurate records of support requests and resolutions.
- Perform additional duties as required by the IT department.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Recently graduated or currently completing studies.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Windows environments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles would be advantageous.
