About the position
Our client in JHB North seeking an experienced IT Asset Management Specialist to join their IT Operations team.
Role Purpose
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong IT asset management, reporting, and compliance experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Diploma in IT, Information Systems, Business or a related field.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- IT Asset Management certification will be advantageous.
- 4–6 years' experience in IT Asset Management or a similar environment.
- Hands-on experience with ITAM platforms such as ServiceNow, SysAid, Reftab or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Power BI reporting.
- Experience with IT asset compliance, audits and lifecycle management.
- Understanding of financial accounting principles relating to IT Asset Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of IT assets, including allocation, renewals, replacements and disposals.
- Monitor and resolve asset exceptions such as missing devices, unknown assets and inactive agents.
- Ensure accurate allocation of IT assets to users, business units and cost centres.
- Perform regular reconciliations between IT asset management systems and physical assets.
- Maintain accurate asset records, including tagging, serial numbers and locations.
- Support internal and external IT asset audits.
- Manage asset-related service tickets using SysAid or a similar IT service management platform.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring assets are issued and recovered efficiently.
- Arrange repairs, warranty claims and procurement of replacement equipment.
- Escalate non-compliant or inactive devices through Microsoft Intune.
- Produce regular asset compliance dashboards and management reports.
- Analyse asset data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
