About the position
Our Client seeks a suitably qualified IT System Administrator for their Head Office. The role is responsible for the effective management, maintenance, and security of the organisation's IT infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology operations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot IT systems to ensure high availability and performance
- Install updates, patches, and security fixes on servers, workstations, and IT assets
- Configure and manage network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points)
- Administer servers (Windows and Linux), including user accounts, permissions, backups, and disaster recovery
- Deploy and support software applications and provide end-user technical support
- Implement and enforce IT security policies, conduct audits, and manage cyber-risk
- Maintain clear IT documentation and share knowledge through training and collaboration
- Liaise with vendors for IT hardware, software, and support services
- Identify opportunities for automation, system improvements, and infrastructure upgrades
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science, IT, or a related field)
- Proven experience as a System Administrator
- Strong knowledge of networks, servers, operating systems, and IT infrastructure
- Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with IT monitoring tools
- Relevant IT certifications are advantageous
