RESPONSIBILITIES
Investment Strategy & Execution
- Lead origination of investment opportunities aligned with the firm's strategic focus.
- Drive due diligence processes, including commercial, financial, legal, and ESG aspects.
- Structure and negotiate investment terms and transaction documentation.
- Present opportunities to the investment committee with well-articulated theses.
Portfolio Management
- Take board-level roles in portfolio companies to guide strategy, governance, and operational performance.
- Lead post-investment value creation initiatives including bolt-on acquisitions, financial restructuring, and management enhancement.
- Monitor and report on investment performance against KPIs and value realization timelines.
Firm Leadership & Strategy
- Contribute to the ongoing strategic direction.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, building internal capabilities.
- Uphold and enhance the firm's reputation in the market through networking, speaking engagements, and thought leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- CA(SA), CFA, MBA or similar qualification from a reputable institution.
- 10+ years of experience in private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, or a combination thereof.
- Proven track record of originating, structuring, and exiting successful private equity transactions.
- Extensive board-level experience and a demonstrable ability to drive value in portfolio companies.
- Strong deal-making, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep network within the South African and broader African corporate landscape.
