About the position
Hire Resolve’s client, a leading financing solutions provider focusing on SMEs, is looking for an experienced Investment Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and managing investments that drive business growth while ensuring financial sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess investment opportunities for SME financing.
- Conduct financial due diligence, business assessments, and market analysis.
- Structure investment transactions, including debt, equity, and hybrid financing.
- Negotiate and finalize investment agreements in line with company policies.
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of investments, ensuring financial and operational success.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies for underperforming investments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, and financial institutions.
- Provide mentorship and advisory support to SME clients.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and internal investment guidelines.
- Prepare and present reports on portfolio performance, risk assessments, and market trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Investment Management, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification (MBA, CFA, CA(SA), or equivalent) is advantageous.
- 5–7 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or SME financing.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence skills.
- Proven ability to structure and negotiate complex financial transactions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with SMEs and a deep understanding of the South African business environment.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for SME development.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
