About the position
A boutique investment management firm is looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to support its investment team with broker instruction processing and segregated mandate portfolio administration. This is the back office of a live investment book. You turn the team's trading decisions and clients' instructions into instructions to the appointed broker, then track them through to settlement on the JSE, chasing queries yourself. Around that sit client accounts, FICA onboarding, portfolio records, corporate actions and compliance reporting. It is a small team, so you prioritise your own work across several people rather than being handed a queue. You will need four to five years of administrative experience gained at a stockbroker, a private-client or boutique investment or wealth manager, or another business doing broker and JSE-facing back-office administration, and familiarity with how broker instructions are processed and settled, for example through the BDA system. A diploma or degree in Business Administration or a related field is welcome, and hands-on experience in this exact work stands in its place. Segregated mandate experience is preferred, not required.
