About the position

A small but fast-growing South African manufacturer of ladders and access equipment, is looking for a sharp, ambitious, and hands-on Internal Sales Representative to support our internal sales operations and help us scale. We supply high-quality aluminium and fibreglass ladders, trolleys, and related products into the hardware retail and industrial markets across Southern Africa.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where initiative is valued, and growth potential is real.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming sales queries (telephonic, walk-in, email, online)
  • Generate and follow up on quotes, proformas, and orders
  • 1 day a week with external customer visits.
  • Liaise with production and dispatch to coordinate fulfilment
  • Build relationships with hardware stores, contractors, and distributors
  • Upsell complementary products like trolleys and access platforms
  • Maintain and manage CRM tools and customer databases
  • Support showroom sales and customer walk-ins
  • Assist with stock control documents, pick slips, credit notes, and invoicing
  • General administrative and reception duties.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2-5 years of internal sales experience, ideally in manufacturing, industrial supplies, or the hardware/building materials space
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple client interactions
  • Fluent in English (Afrikaans an advantage)
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and organisational skills
  • Comfortable with sales software, CRMs, and ERP systems like Sage or Pastel
  • Reliable, energetic, and able to work independently within a small team environment
  • Own vehicle to drive occasionally to customers.
