About the position

A well-known international polymer / plastic manufacturer and distributor requires the above to responsible for managing customer enquiries, process orders, coordinating sales administration, providing customer service, and act as a key liaison between clients and the external sales team. This role is to ensure smooth communication between customers, production, logistics, and sales to meet business and client objectives efficiently.
Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Minimum matric is essential for the role.  A tertiary qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience having worked as a customer service or internal sales coordinator or related role within the chemical or plastics or related markets supplying the manufacturing industry is preferred for the role.
  • Previous experience having worked with HDPE, PP and PET would be an added advantage.
  • The successful candidate must be computer literate and ideally have experience working on ERP systems such as SAP or OMNI or a related ERP System.  
  • The successful candidate must have good communication skills and be proactive and self-motivated.
  • Must have good conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing customer orders, coordinating sales administration, providing customer service, and supporting the external sales team. This role is to ensure smooth communication between customers, production, logistics, and sales to meet business and client objectives efficiently.
  • Liaising with customers regarding raw material chemical products they have ordered and making sure that customers are kept up to date on delivery.
  • Receiving and processing customer orders on their ERP system, coordinating with production and logistics for on-time delivery.
  • Managing backorders, lead times, and product availability while keeping customers informed.
  • Ensuring the external sales team as well as senior management is kept informed of any developments that are relevant to their customers.
  • Ensuring that all customer complaints, issues and queries are dealt with timeously.
  • Monitoring stock levels to meet customer’s needs, including reserved stock and assisting with quotations and pricing.
  • Monitoring deliveries, working closely with the warehouse and distribution team to ensure that deliveries are done timeously.  
  • Liaising with transport and shipping companies on export orders placed for customers internationally.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
