About the position

The person will perform audit functions for the entire Group and report to the Group Internal Audit Manager. There is travelling to Eastern Cape, Gauteng and KZN that is required

  • Review and maintain group polices
  • Review, test and develop internal controls and suggest improvements
  • Clear understanding of SOP's
  • Assess and improve general operation systems
  • Standard stock checks at all allocated branches
  • Liaise with warehouse management staff regarding stock counts and variances, as well as entrance/exit control testing
  • Provide the directors of the company a level of comfort relating to the effective functioning of all relevant controls for
    the business.
  • At all times responsibility for the safeguarding and reporting of the health of the company's physical and monetary
    assets, stock reputation and workforce
  • Required to travel to respective branches
  • Document and record all procedures performed
  • Experience from a retail industry
  • Identification of risks
  • Proposals for the management of risks
  • Administrative and ad hoc duties relating to the above
  • Review new developments and provide support and guidance to management
  • Document and review business processes and internal controls
  • Assist in preparation of audit finding reports highlighting issues and problems
  • Maintain and develop professional knowledge base regarding regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and
    standards
