Internal Auditor at NRF National Research Foundation

About the position

Postion Summary:
Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the successful candidate will provide internal audit services as per the approved internal audit plan to NRF as part of the internal audit team. The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of the risk based three (3) year rolling plan and the annual internal audit plan;Assist in the preparation Internal Audit activity report to EXCO and the Board;Conduct internal audits from planning to reporting in accordance with the IIA standards;Perform follow up audits (internal &external) in accordance with IIA standards;Ensure that review notes are cleared timeously;Prepare draft internal audit reports with valid findings and practical recommendations;Ensure completeness of audit files in line with audit methodology; Assist in the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program of the unit;Stakeholder relations;Any other ad hoc tasks as required

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7

Minimum Experience:

• 5-10 years

• Bcom / Bcompt / Btech internal audit;CIA / CGAP / CRMA / CISA / PIA / CASA will be an added advantage;At least years (6) years, post qualification experience in internal audit or 3 years post articles experience; andMember of the IIA SA

Experience:

• Good report writing skills;Good communication skills and interpersonal skills;Audit software packages;Deadline and results orientated attitude;Professional, assertive and persuasive demeanor;High sense of integrity and independence; andAbility to work under pressure and be flexible to travel

Knowledge:

• South African public sector environment especially public entities;Standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and ability to fully comply with IIA standards; International Financial Reporting Standards; andGeneral public sector legislation and regulations (PFMA, Treasury Regulations etc
• )
