About the position

Introduction

The position of Internal Audit Quality Assurance Coordinator is vacant. The Internal Audit Quality Assurance Coordinator will report directly to the Internal Audit Quality Assurance Manager and forms part of the Internal Audit Division. The position is based at Head Office in Pretoria.

The remuneration package for this position is between R514 314 and R642 756 per annum,based on qualifications and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Internal Audit Quality Assurance Coordinator will be required to perform the following functions within the Internal Audit Division under the supervision of the Internal Audit Quality Assurance Manager through the implementation of the following:

  • Maintain and update quality assurance and improvement program.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of audit working papers against established methodology, standards and checklists.
  • Document and organise quality assessment findings using standard templates.
  • Monitor and track implementation of quality assurance improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain and update internal audit process templates.
  • Support ongoing professional development initiatives for internal auditors.
  • Assist with facilitating internal/external training for internal auditors.
  • Maintain and update internal audit policies, procedures, manual and methodology.
  • Compile and format quality assurance reports using established templates.
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling of quality assurance reviews and maintain related calendars.
  • Organise quality assurance meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
  • Monitor audit engagements for conformance with IIA standards.
  • Execute internal quality assessments following established procedures.
  • Maintain and update quality assurance tools, checklists, templates and records.
  • Implement quality assurance improvement initiatives under supervision.
  • Gather and analyse quality metrics and performance indicators.
  • Assist with preparing and compiling governance committee submissions.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification requirements are:
  • Diploma or Degree in Internal Audit or related field.
  • Progress towards CIA certification (partial completion).
  • Certification in Quality Assurance (CQA) would be advantageous.

Skills:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years functional experience in Internal Auditing.
  • Knowledge and functional experience of quality assurance & improvement programmes within internal audit function is essential/advantageous.
  • Knowledge of External Quality Assurance Review (EQAR) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Audit Software/Tools. Understanding health policy.

  • Ethical Behaviour: Maintaining confidentiality and following IIA Code of Ethics.

Desirable:
  • Understanding of the medical schemes industry.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of quality assurance principles and internal audit processes.
