Internal Audit Manager

Position Overview:

As an Internal Audit Manager, you will play a vital role in planning, managing, and executing business process audit reviews within the Internal Audit Services. Working closely with the Head of Internal Audit, you will ensure adherence to IAS standards and methodologies while providing valuable insights to enhance internal controls and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Delivery:

• Implement new methodologies within the internal audit team.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of various businesses and models.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders and ensure effective communication.
• Review deliverables and conduct spot reviews of engagement work papers.
• Promote the strategy and role of the IAS department within the portfolio.

Planning:

• Communicate assignment details to clients and the team within acceptable timelines.
• Coach and support team members regarding engagement objectives and administration.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards in documentation.

Project Management and Reporting:

• Deliver near-final reports to the Senior Manager.
• Manage deadlines, budgets, and project issues effectively.
• Provide regular planning input and updates to the team.

People Management:

• Oversee team activities to ensure effective delivery of outcomes.
• Develop a high-performing team through formal performance management and coaching.
• Identify development needs and ensure budgeted training requirements are met.
• Interview and recruit new team members, including determining appropriate compensation levels.
• Address performance issues through formal improvement programs and ensure recognition of team members' efforts.

Qualifications Essential:

• Certified Internal Auditor (IIA) or Chartered Accountant (CASA).
• Certified Quality Assurance Assessor (IIA).
• Bachelor's degree in Internal Auditing/Accounting.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years' experience in auditing, including managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, internal control, and audit standards, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Exceptional report writing capabilities with experience in providing and managing both assurance and consulting engagements.
• Preference for experience gained in a Big 4 environment.
• Passion for the technology and media industry.
