About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Sigma Computing Consultant with solid data platform expertise in Snowflake and/or Databricks. This role bridges analytics, business intelligence, and modern data engineering helping clients design and implement insightful, scalable data solutions using Sigma Computing’s cloud-native BI platform integrated into enterprise ecosystems.
You’ll collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to develop powerful, self-service analytics environments leveraging governed data models and advanced data warehouse capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain Sigma Computing dashboards, datasets, and workbooks aligned with business KPIs and data governance principles.
- Integrate Sigma with data sources such as Snowflake, Databricks Delta Lake, and cloud data lakes.
- Collaborate with data teams to optimize SQL queries, semantic models, and data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency.
- Translate business requirements into analytical solutions, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and usability across stakeholders.
- Develop reusable data templates, reporting frameworks, and best practices for Sigma deployments.
- Support data access, permissions, and governance policies across BI layers.
- Troubleshoot and optimize BI queries, data refresh performance, and connector integrations.
- Mentor junior analysts and assist with client enablement in Sigma adoption and best practices.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- 3–7 years of experience in data analytics, BI development, or data engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Sigma Computing (or similar self-service BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI).
- Expert-level SQL skills with real-world experience building analytics in Snowflake or Databricks.
- Understanding of data modeling, star schemas, and semantic layers.
- Solid knowledge of cloud data architectures, pipelines, and analytic workloads (AWS or Azure preferred).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality solutions in agile environments.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with dbt, Apache NiFi/Snowflake OpenFlow, or other ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Familiarity with Python, JavaScript, or API integration for analytics automation.
- Exposure to data governance, security, or data mesh concepts in enterprise-scale deployments.
- Client-facing consulting or solution design experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Sigma Computing, Snowflake, or Databricks certifications are highly advantageous.
