About the position
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cape Town, Western Cape. This permanent opportunity is ideal for a construction professional with strong commercial awareness, estimating capabilities, and experience in cost management.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc or BTech Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- 5-10 years of experience in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Construction Computer Software (CCS).
- Good understanding of the responsibilities associated with a Senior Quantity Surveyor role.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
- South African citizenship.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor with tender preparation, estimating, quantity take-offs, and bill of quantities compilation.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and contractual documentation.
- Support cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly cost reporting.
- Assist with interim payment certificates, valuations, reconciliation statements, and final accounts.
- Monitor subcontractor and supplier costs and performance.
- Maintain accurate site records and ensure effective document control.
- Support construction management teams in meeting project budgets and commercial objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and project requirements.
