About the position

Committee Secretary: Intermediate Level (3-month contract)

Are you a governance professional with a passion for corporate excellence and working at the highest levels of leadership? A leading development finance institution is seeking an experienced Committee Secretary (Intermediate) to support board and executive governance structures and ensure the effective functioning of key decision-making forums.

In this role, you will work closely with the Company Secretary, Board Members, and Executive Leadership to provide end-to-end company secretarial and corporate governance support. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating board and committee meetings, preparing agendas and meeting packs, drafting high-quality minutes and reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and governance frameworks.
This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands corporate governance best practice, and enjoys engaging with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional company secretarial and governance support to boards, committees, and executive structures.
  • Coordinate board and committee meetings including agendas, packs, minutes, and resolutions.
  • Support the implementation of governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Maintain statutory records, board documentation, and institutional records.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
  • Build strong relationships with directors, executives, and internal stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • LLB, B.Admin (Law), B.Com (Law), BA (Law) or equivalent qualification
  • 4-6 years' experience in a company secretarial environment
  • Experience supporting boards and committees, preferably in the public sector
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance frameworks and company law

  • Corporate governance and company secretarial best practice
  • Excellent minute-taking, report writing, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines
