About the position
We are looking for an Intermediate Angular Developer to join a banking Rewards portfolio and contribute to the delivery of customer-facing digital solutions within a complex banking environment.
The successful candidate will work across a variety of initiatives, supporting the development of new platform capabilities, enhancements to existing applications, and the delivery of high-quality digital experiences for customers.
This role suits a developer who enjoys building modern web applications, solving problems, and working collaboratively within a fast-moving delivery environment. While support and collaboration are available within the team, the successful candidate should be comfortable taking ownership of their work, driving tasks through to completion and actively engaging when clarification or assistance is required.
You will work in a technology environment that includes modern Angular development, Java-based backend services, RESTful API integrations, Jira and Confluence, Agile and hybrid delivery practices, and enterprise-scale digital banking platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and enhance Angular applications.
- Deliver high-quality front-end features within established delivery timelines.
- Participate in the development of new platform functionality and application enhancements.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve defects and technical issues.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Quality Engineers and back-end development teams.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing activities.
- Support delivery across multiple initiatives within the banking Rewards portfolio when required.
- Escalate technical challenges and delivery risks appropriately.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.

- Build a solid understanding of the banking Rewards platform, delivery teams and development practices.
- Become productive within the Angular codebase and delivery environment.
- Deliver assigned features, enhancements and defect resolutions to an agreed standard.

Requirements - Commercial experience developing applications using Angular.
- Proven experience delivering production-ready front-end functionality.
- Experience contributing to the development of customer-facing web applications.
- Understanding of modern front-end development principles and practices.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Ability to investigate and resolve application defects and technical issues.
- Experience working effectively within delivery teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently within defined workstreams.
- Ability to demonstrate practical development capability in a hands-on technical assessment.
Advantageous
- Banking or financial services experience.
- Loyalty, banking Rewards or customer-facing digital platform experience.
- Exposure to Java-based backend services.
- Experience consuming and integrating APIs.
- Exposure to DevOps, deployment or release support processes.
- Experience working on platform modernisation or greenfield initiatives.
- Exposure to cloud-based environments.
Direct banking or Rewards experience would be valuable, but strong Angular capability, a willingness to learn, and evidence of delivering quality software within a team environment are more important.
