                                        Are you passionate about data, technology, and building seamless connections between systems? We’re looking for a Junior–Intermediate Integration Specialist to join a collaborative IT team and help drive smooth, accurate data exchange across multiple platforms in the higher education technology space.
About the Role
As an Integration Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting and maintaining data integrations between internal systems (such as CRM and LMS platforms) and partner university systems. You’ll assist with troubleshooting issues, monitoring integrations, validating data, and supporting onboarding projects — all under the guidance of senior team members and external developers.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, learning new technologies, and applying analytical thinking to improve business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Integration Support & Data Maintenance
- Support the setup and monitoring of data integrations between internal and partner systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Perform manual data updates where automation isn’t in place.
- Log and track incidents, escalating recurring issues where necessary.
Process Documentation & Analysis
- Document data flows, business processes, and integration points.
- Assist in preparing data mapping and technical documentation for new integrations.
- Work with senior staff to analyse integration challenges and suggest improvements.
Partner & Vendor Coordination
- Support integration meetings and workshops with partner universities.
- Coordinate with external developers on integration progress.
- Communicate updates and findings clearly with internal teams.
Data Quality & Reporting
- Conduct data validation and cleansing using tools like Excel or SQL.
- Assist in preparing reports or dashboards to track data integrity.
- Monitor data loads and scheduled syncs to ensure successful execution.
Security & Compliance
- Adhere to internal data security policies and POPIA compliance standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure proper documentation of integration changes.
Skills & Attributes
- Understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data formats (JSON, CSV, XML).
- Experience working with CRM or data systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Foundational SQL and/or Python skills for data validation and reporting.
- Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Team-oriented and proactive approach.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric (required); a diploma or degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field is advantageous.
- 1–3 years’ experience supporting data or system integrations.
- Exposure to Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, or LMS platforms beneficial.
- Familiarity with integration tools (Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar) advantageous.
- Experience in higher education or technology environments a plus.
