Instrumentation Technician

About the position

Our Client is looking for a self-driven and energetic Technician for the Centurion area. Electrical and Instrumentation background knowledge is required, as well as working experience in project management roles.

Company vehicle will be provided to travel to site. Own vehicle required to get to and from work.

Purpose of the role:
Technician Field Service Role:

• Technical support and service
• Be able to communicate with clients to understand their problems
• Be able to provide technical support to clients, do troubleshooting and fault finding on equipment
• Be able to read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit diagrams
• Be able to repair, install, replace and service equipment we supplied
• Be able to work with 3 phase electrical power equipment
• Be able to communicate and provide training to the client's personal on the supplied equipment
• Be able to commission and setup the supplied equipment
• Be able and available to travel locally and abroad as required for work on occasions
• Be able to program and interface with various PLC, HMI and other control systems as required
• Network setup and configuration is a requirement
• Compile and manage the required day to day documentation and planning

Requirements and experience:

• Red Seal will be beneficial
• Minimum NQF level 4 (Electrical and Instrumentation) qualification
• Minimum of 2-3 years' technical experience in related field
• Computer Literate
• Software and PLC programming experience on either Allan Bradley or Siemens or Schneider PLC
• Must be fluent in English
• No criminal offence records
• Code 08 Driver's License
• Knowledge and experience in electrical installations, MCC layouts and electrical equipment
• Technical designs and analysis
• Knowledge and experience in the electrical and instrumentation field and general fault-finding procedures
• Experience in drawing program like Autocad would be beneficial
