Position: Instrumentation Engineer
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing technical support and design in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on instrumentation and metering systems.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Experience: 12-15 years as an Instrument Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
- Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in instrumentation systems. Proficient in industry codes and standards (API, BS, ISO, ASME, ANSI, IEC, ISA, IEEE).
- Technical Support: Demonstrated experience in technical support and troubleshooting.
- Certifications: Instrument-related certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of H2S, LEL, pH, conductivity, O2 analyser, CO/CO2 analyser, fire & gas detectors, and gas chromatographs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for various types of instrumentation including level, temperature, pressure, control valves, Emergency Isolation Valves, Motor Operated Valve, Relief Valves, flow measurement and control, liquid and gas metering instrumentation, and control systems for custody transfer.
- Apply sound judgment in technical matters with good skills in engineering field material specifications, integrity inspection, plant design optimization, and modifications.
- Perform technical evaluations for instrumentation quotations, attend technical bid evaluation meetings, and answer vendor queries.
- Utilize trends, loop drawings, and I/O cross-reference for troubleshooting instrumentation and control problems.
- Provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations regarding instrumentation, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Virtual Metering System (VMS), and auxiliary control systems.
- Lead and/or participate in incident investigations using techniques such as 5 Why’s and Tap Root and produce investigation reports.
- Prepare engineering design packages for Instrumentation and Control Systems modifications to improve plant reliability and address instrumentation obsolescence.
- Support operation, maintenance, and Turnaround and Inspection (T&I) activities related to instrumentation.
- Assist project units and project management teams in feasibility studies, design scopes, project execution, commissioning, and project completion walkthroughs.
