Job Title: Instrument Technician - Mining Industry
Location: Mpumalanga
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
Hire Resolve's client is seeking a skilled and experienced Instrument Technician to join their mining operation in Mpumalanga. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing instrumentation and control systems in our mining facilities. They will need to ensure that all instrumentation is functioning properly to support the safe and efficient operation of our mining equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair Siemens, PLCs, VSDs, and Simcodes
- Repair and install Profibus and fibre networks
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with instrumentation and control systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on instrumentation to prevent breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Document all work performed and keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to ensure smooth operation of mining equipment.
Requirements:
- N6 Certificate in Instrumentation with a Trade Test Certificate OR a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering (advantageous)
- At least 3 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in the mining industry.
- Knowledge of PLC systems, SCADA systems, and other control systems used in mining operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
