INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN

Vacancy exists for a suitably qualified individual to fill the above-mentioned position.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• The electronic/ electrical repair and maintenance of commercial scientific test equipment.
• Ensure that the test equipment conforms to the relevant technical requirements.
• Calibration and validation of specialized equipment.
• Assist in the development of new equipment and the upgrading of existing equipment.
• Contribute to the technical management of the laboratory to ensure the maximum efficiency of equipment and provision of services to clients Comply with ISO 17025 accreditation standards in accordance with procedures laid down in the Company's Quality Management System.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• National Diploma in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in the maintenance, repair, set-up, and calibration of a range of scientific technical apparatus.
• Excellent fault-finding skills.
• Sound computer literacy with proficiency in Excel is essential.
• CAD experience would be beneficial.
• PLC programming and automation experience is essential.
• IOT experience would be beneficial.
• Ability to work in a group environment with sound written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and have a pro-active approach to problem identification and solving.
