INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER (P8) PERMANENT
REF NO: WSU MTHFNS-2025/13 Key Performance Areas

• Train lecturers in and promote the applications of e-learning in learning and teaching
  activities.
• Design and develop interactive electronic lecture and other materials which enhance
  learning and teaching.
• Identify pedagogical needs of lecturers in a higher education environment for online
  learning.
• Assist lecturers to understand how to design and develop their own electronic course
  material.
• Encourage students to use technology in learning.
• Research the use of new computer applications as need arises.
• Manage e-learning projects.

Skills and Competencies Required

• Demonstrate ability to apply sound educational didactics in online learning, including OBE.
• Knowledge of and experience in CBT-Computer-based Training, E-learning environment, IT environment, IT software support, application support, IT training and development of learning/training material.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Analytical business writing and report writing

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:

• Master’s in Computer Science/Computing/ ICT Education
• PGDip in Education Technology or PGDip (HE) for Academic Developers will be an added advantage.
• International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) will be an added advantage.

Experience:

•  Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in higher education which includes developing curriculum innovation in e-Learning, including Moodle or equivalent learning management system.
