Injection Moulding Machine Setter

About the position

We are seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Machine Setter to join our client's production team. The successful candidate will ensure that processes and products meet both company and customer quality standards while achieving production targets. This role requires coordinating production staff, managing injection moulding machines, and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage all production staff, ensuring efficiency and compliance with production schedules.
• Set up and maintain all injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
• Monitor production performance, including scrap %, cycle times, and other KPIs, to meet company objectives.
• Ensure compliance with quality management systems (QMS), environmental requirements (EMS), and health & safety standards.
• Maintain production work instructions, including setting sheets, inspection instructions, packaging, and transport details.
• Review non-conforming products with the quality department and implement corrective actions.
• Promote quality achievement and process improvement throughout the department.
• Assist with stores management and training of personnel where required.
• Stand in for other setters and be available for overtime to meet production requirements.

Requirements:

• Level 4 Plastic Federation Injection Machine Setting Certificate (NQF6) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in injection moulding machine setting and process optimisation.
• Previous supervisory experience in a shift-based production environment.
• Prior experience in plastics manufacturing preferred.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to train and motivate staff.
• Capable of working unsupervised under high-pressure conditions.
• South African citizen.
