Postion Summary:
The Digital Services unit seeks to appoint Infrastructure and Network Technician whose key responsibilities will include
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify problems, determine cause and implement solutions:Use diagnostic tools, check connections and replace faulty components
- Consider potential hardware failures, driver issues and improperconfigurations
- Update software, fix bugs, uninstall and reinstall programs, or adjustsettings
- Reboot servers, switches and run diagnostic tests on generators, UPS’s &check system logs
- Ensure the issues are resolved and document the findings for futurereference Monitoring network bandwidth, latency and packet loss to ensure optimalperformance:Keep track of network devices configurations to ensure consistency andsecurityEnsure that network resources are available and accessible to users andstakeholders
- Collect data and analyse, then identify trends, anomalies and potentialissues
- Monitor network usage, performance trends and enable better resourceplanningIdentify and resolve issues before they disrupt users and cause significantdowntime
- Provide dashboards and generate reports on network health andperformance
- Implement root cause analyses and investigate underlying issues:Determine specific issues that need to be addressed
- Assess the effectiveness of the implemented solution and makeadjustments as needed
- Solve users’ problems at hand and escalate further issues to senior teammembers
- Work hand-in-hand with service desk team to resolve logged technicalinfrastructure calls
- Make follow-ups with users, team members and management on issuesand problems
- Implement zero trust security principles through safeguarding informationsystems, networks and data from various threats and attacks:Work hand in hand with the IT Security and Infrastructure Specialists, tomaintain the next generation firewall
- Do patching of the systems and keep software and operating systems up todate
- Update antivirus and protecting data from unauthorized access, corruptionand theft
- Follow the established security policies and standard operating procedures
- Provide and participate on business continuity and disaster recovery
- Securing mobile devices and laptops that connect to corporate networks
- To provide effective and efficient assistance to users and business units:Provide consistent and efficient support, sharing of knowledge andresources
- Foster strong team collaboration, streamline processes and addresspotential issues
- Provide consistent experience across the organization and team members
- Enhance the users experience by ensuring seamless and consistentsupport
- Create a culture of trust and open communication
Minimum Qualification:
