About the position
We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Cloud Manager to take ownership of a modern technology environment spanning cloud, on-premises and hybrid infrastructure.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands that great infrastructure isn't just about keeping the lights on it’s about building platforms that are reliable, secure, scalable, cost-effective and ready for what’s next.

What You'll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for the reliability, performance, security and optimisation of the infrastructure environment.
Service Availability & Reliability
- Design, implement and manage resilient infrastructure across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments.
- Build proactive monitoring and alerting to identify and resolve issues before they impact users.
- Maintain and regularly test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Drive effective and automated change management in collaboration with application teams.
- Use service desk insights to identify and eliminate recurring infrastructure issues.
Performance & Scalability
- Implement performance monitoring and capacity planning strategies.
- Design scalable infrastructure capable of supporting changing business and operational demands.
- Oversee data management, storage and infrastructure performance.
- Continuously optimise infrastructure architecture for improved performance and efficiency.
Security & Compliance
- Develop and maintain a multi-layered security approach across corporate and cloud infrastructure.
- Manage vulnerability scanning, patching and configuration hardening.
- Lead infrastructure security incident response from detection through to post-incident review.
- Support compliance with relevant regulatory and industry requirements.
- Assess the security, stability and cost implications of new technology initiatives.
Cloud Cost Management & FinOps
- Drive and mature cloud financial management and optimisation practices.
- Monitor and optimise cloud expenditure across the environment.
- Identify opportunities for rightsizing, automation and reserved-instance savings.
- Work with vendors and cloud providers to negotiate favourable pricing and terms.
- Track and report on infrastructure costs and optimisation opportunities.

RequirementsWhat We're Looking For
You’ll ideally bring:
- 7–10 years’ experience managing IT infrastructure and/or cloud environments.
- 7+ years’ experience across infrastructure design, monitoring, security and support.
- 3–5 years’ leadership or people-management experience.
- Proven experience working across hybrid environments, combining on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience implementing performance, cost and security frameworks.
- Strong experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Solid understanding of infrastructure architecture, networking, storage and security.
- Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Strong understanding of IT service management and ITIL processes.
- Experience with vendor and technology partner management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and strategic-thinking abilities.

Essential / Preferred:
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science or a related field is preferred

- Microsoft SC-300 – Identity & Access Administrator
- Microsoft AZ-900 – Azure Fundamentals
- Microsoft AZ-104 – Azure Administrator
- Microsoft AZ-305 – Designing Azure Infrastructure Solutions
- ITIL V4 Foundation
- COBIT
