About the position

IT Infrastructure Manager
For the Wild & Wired
R 480 000 - R 520 000 

??? What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee all IT infrastructure: servers, networks, storage, and telecoms
  • Implement and maintain WiFi, radio comms, and satellite tech in remote environments
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security—even when the nearest plug point is a car battery
  • Manage user accounts, software, and access controls for staff and volunteers
  • Keep documentation tight and systems running smooth
  • Enforce IT security policies and protect our data like a digital guardian of the desert

?? Who You Are:
  • A seasoned IT pro with hands-on experience in infrastructure and systems administration
  • Passionate about camping, outdoor living, and off-grid problem-solving
  • A “Camel Man” (or woman!)—ready to trek, troubleshoot, and thrive in unconventional settings
  • Comfortable with satellite tech, radio systems, and making tech work where it shouldn’t
  • A collaborative spirit who can support users and manage projects with heart and grit
