Industrial Waste Sales Consultant
Division: Sales & Tendering
Position Type: Permanent
Reporting To: Sales Manager
Job Summary
Drive sustainable financial growth through sales and by building strong client relationships. The role requires achieving individual sales targets in line with budgeted gross profit and business margins.
You will provide technically driven Bespoke Total Waste Management solutions as well as Transactional Waste Management solutions and be responsible for executing the sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
- Generate new business through prospecting, research, and lead generation
- Convert leads into qualified opportunities and close deals using the sales process
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs
- Identify and expand new sales opportunities for sustained growth
- Conduct competitor analysis to increase market share
- Negotiate and close new business to drive long-term revenue
2. Client Engagement & Strategy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Identify customer needs, buying criteria, and decision drivers
- Promote value propositions aligned with waste management solutions
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery
- Support mobilisation of successfully secured contracts
3. Proposals & Tendering
- Develop and submit high-quality proposals and tenders
- Collaborate with internal teams and technical specialists
- Take ownership of proposal development through to successful closure
- Ensure all deliverables meet deadlines and stakeholder expectations
4. Technical & Operational Support
- Conduct detailed waste and technical assessments (with SME support where required)
- Prepare site-specific total waste management proposals
- Manage hazardous waste sampling and communicate results
- Drive alternatives to disposal aligned with waste hierarchy principles
- Monitor industry trends and developments
5. Reporting & Systems
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records
- Provide sales reports, dashboards, and forecasts
- Track progress against pipeline and sales stages
General Duties
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism and service delivery
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across the business
- Ensure efficient execution of all sales activities
- Promote the company’s reputation, values, and growth objectives
- Perform any additional duties as required by management

Minimum Requirements
- Degree or qualification in:
- Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Environmental / Waste Management
- OR Sales / Marketing (advantageous)
- 3+ years’ experience in the waste management industry (preferred)
- 3–5 years’ proven track record in new business sales
- Experience identifying profitable opportunities and securing clients
- Strong relationship-building and client management skills
- Experience with CRM systems
- Valid driver’s license

- Ability to work both independently and in a team
